In the spirit of the Winter Olympics, the Chicagoland Young Life Junior Board will be playing broomball for a good cause! Join us at Johnny's Ice House West on Tuesday, March 6th to raise awareness and money for the Young Lives ministry here in Chicago. Young Lives exists to reach and love teen moms by entering their world, modeling the unconditional love of Christ, and encouraging them to become the women and mothers God created them to be.
To raise money (and have some fun) we will be hosting a broomball tournament. If you've never played broomball before, it's super fun and super easy - check out this video! No talent required! The winner of the tournament will be honored like true olympians at the closing ceremonies at Johnny's Bar upstairs.
WHAT: Broomball Tournement raising money for Young Lives. We will have a short presentation from the Junior Board and Young Lives during the event so you can learn more. All equipment will be provided. Feel free to wear thicker clothes; falling won't cause harm, but may hurt a little bit =)
WHERE: Johnny's Icehouse West - 2550 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60612
WHEN: Tuesday, March 6th - 6:00PM - 9:00 PM (Broomball Tournament is from 6:30 - 8:30)
WHO: Anyone! Please invite your friends, family, and co-workers. This is an open event. We do however encourage all Board members to attend.
COST: $20 (includes pizza!) or $25 at the door. If you want to compete in the broomball tournament, bring $5 with you to the event and we can place you on a team. Your $5 to play broomball and a portion of the $20 will go directly to the Young Lives ministry right here in Chicago.
If you don't have a team, don't worry. When we get there, we'll form teams or add you to a team that already exists. Also, it is not required that you play broomball. There will be pizza, drinks for purchase, and some awesome people to hang out with while you watch.
